TrybeHK

Trybe HK

A sprawling 3,500 square foot fitness space located in Wong Chuk Hang that just opened this month, Trybe is a new training facility focused on movement-based disciplines such as acrobatics, gymnastics, tumbling, rings, weightlifting, dance and mobility fitness. Offering daily classes and specialty workshops, Trybe encourages movers to come and explore alternative fitness programs. In addition to their massive studio, they’ve partnered up with local healthy snack company QUO HK to create a dedicated QUOferia specializing in fresh, organic kefir (aka the gut-healing cultured drink) products like kefir coconut yogurt, gluten-free granola and coconut water.

2/F, Shops 209 – 210, 2 Heung Yip Road, One Island South, Wong Chu Hang. +852 5532 6571. For more information, email them at move@trybehk.com or check here

Gymbox24Gymbox24 Outdoor Gym

Opened earlier this month, Gymbox24 is the first and only 24-hour outdoor gym in town! Located in Sheung Wan, this 3,500 square foot space boasts gorgeous views of towering skyscrapers amidst bright, walled foliage (and don’t worry, there is a retractable roof if Mother Earth isn’t feeling friendly). Equipped with free weights, treadmills, stationary bikes, monkey bars, battle ropes, hack squat machines and more, plus full shower facilities and lockers (though fair warning, it’s BYO towel). The friendly staff are on-site from 11AM until 9PM, and members looking to work up a sweat after hours are welcome at any hour of the day. No classes are offered at Gymbox24 and your workout sessions are unsupervised (remember, safety first!), but clients are able to purchase personal training sessions. For a limited time, Gymbox24 is offering an exclusive discount on membership options for Green Queen readers- an additional 10% off their opening pricing!

Orangetheory Fitness

Orangetheory Fitness

Hailing from the US and now with branches all over the country, Orangetheory Fitness is an hourlong group personal training workout. Read about this convert‘s obsession on why it’s the best workout she has ever tried. Backed by the science of excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (aka EPOC, which basically increases your metabolism for up to three days after your workout ends), clients wear monitors during their sessions that track heart rate and number of calories burned. Through the knowledge and support of a personal coach, your stats are broadcast on electronic boards at the front of the class to keep you accountable and motivated amongst your peers. The goal is to stay in the orange zone (hence the name), which implies that you are exerting maximum effort. Set to open in Hong Kong in Causeway Bay in May 2017, Orangetheory is currently taking appointments to go over membership options.

23/F, Soundwill Plaza II – Midtown, 1 Tang Lung Street, Causeway Bay; +852 5597 7296. Check here for more information.

Goji Studios

Goji Studios

A unique fitness studio that is taking on a holistic approach to fitness, health and wellness, Goji’s ingenuity lies in backing their physical space with the airs of traditional big box gyms (think state-of-the-art equipment, innovative group classes, and accredited qualified personal trainers) with the mindset of a boutique gym (a more tailored fitness experience, focused guidance from instructors, and being around a community of people with similar passions). Combine that with an in-house nutrition scheme, healthy meal kits and solutions and air purification systems in all their gyms, Goji Studios is looking to shake up the fitness industry in a big way, with seven (!) locations set to open all over Hong Kong and Kowloon over the next few months. Their Whampoa location will be the first to open at the beginning of May.

G/F, 10 Shung King Street, Fashion World, Site 2, Hung Hom, Kowloon; +852 2530 3038. Check here for more information.
