Build Your Own Vegan Burgers At Beef & Liberty With New Leaves & Liberty Concept

2 Mins Read

Hong Kong’s premium burger eatery Beef & Liberty has launched additional vegan options to their menu and dishes featuring the “2.0” recipe launched by Impossible Foods for all foodies to enjoy – vegan, flexitarian and meat eaters alike. With their love of “all things burger related”, the classic burger restaurant now offers a vegan alternative for any beef burger on their menu. Guests can make every burger plant-based by opting for the Impossible patty, and swapping out non-vegan toppings for vegan cheddar cheese, vegan sour cream and vegan buns.

The new flexible ordering options are part of Beef & Liberty’s vegetarian sister concept, Leaves & Liberty. Located at their Deliveroo neighbourhood kitchen in Sai Ying Pun, the green menu features veggie-packed ingredients in their selection of Impossible burgers, sides and salads available for takeaway or delivery online.

While the Impossible Thai burger will no longer be featured on the menu, the team has debuted a new Impossible creation: the Impossible Chorizo, featuring chorizo-like flavours, guacamole, vegan cheddar cheese, pickled jalapeños & vegan sour cream. The new burger will be available at all Beef & Liberty locations in Central, Hong Kong Airport and Stanley Plaza. It is also available for delivery via Deliveroo from the LKF and Stanley locations.

Other new plant-based offerings include limited edition vegan coconut shakes, a new pineapple desert with a coconut caramel and a wild mushroom soup while the ever popular Impossible Chilli Fries will remain on the menu.

The new vegan burger options will be using Impossible “2.0”, the upgraded version of the award-winning plant-based meat. The Impossible patty contains no animal hormones or antibiotics – and the new iteration is gluten-free (the company has removed wheat from the recipe). Nutritionally, it contains similar amounts of protein and iron as a serving of beef while being far better for the environment: the patty leaves a much smaller carbon footprint, and requires drastically less land and water to produce.

Beef & Liberty hopes that the new plant-based offerings will encourage Hong Kong foodies to opt for more sustainable meals – whether they are committed vegans, health-conscious eaters, or meat lovers. Cutting our intake of animal-based protein remains one of the most environmentally positive choices consumers can make, as well as being a boon to our health.

RSVP: In support of Earth Day 2019, Leaves & Liberty is hosting A Plastic Ocean screening followed by a panel of eco business leaders on April 28th as part of a greater campaign to help raise awareness about plastic pollution.

*This post has been updated on April 25 to reflect that the Impossible Chorizo isn’t available via Beef & Liberty SYP & Wan Chai Deliveroo locations anymore.
