On track for a Fall 2018 grand opening, contemporary, upscale hotel, Eaton HK, has expanded its conventional F&B offerings to include a marketplace sure to become a hotspot for lunchers in Jordan, Kowloon. Unveiling a new dining concept, the local landmark has soft opened their first Food Hall, an extensive 17,500 sq.ft. complex that features over 10 food stalls comprising of traditional and international cuisines. Why we love it? The focus of the Food Hall is decidedly health-forward with a bevvy of veggie-friendly options.

Healthy eating restaurants such as eco-conscious, locally-owned Mum Veggie Cafe and Sweetpea Cafe have taken up residence at the haute food court. As a founding member of Eaton House, the popular Wong Chuk Hang haunt has extended their branch to Kowloon. Serving Shojin Ryori-inspired Japanese cuisine, Mum showcases local, seasonal, organic produce with many vegan options. Popular gluten-free bakery, Sweetpea Cafe has opened a smaller version of their whimsical Shin Hing Street locale, an easy-going fast casual hub offering vegan coffees and smoothies, superfood lattes, organic lunch eats with lots of homemade vegan options (and a Beyond Burger as well!), and six homemade gluten-free cakes featuring three signature favourites and the other three rotating daily. Many other vendors have lots of veggie options for plant-based eaters with some dishes made exclusively for Eaton HK like CoCo Ichibanya’s Mixed Grain Vegetable Curry Rice or the various vegetarian assortments from Vietnamese pho vendor, Fûhn. Eaton HK’s signature bar, Flower Years, features a range of local and regional craft beers from Asia. The mixed urban marketplace also includes its own in-house radio station has a plethora of shared and communal seating with over 200 seat capacity.

Aiming to create a unique venue that takes full advantage of Jordan’s rich history, the site designed by internationally-renowned design firm, AvroKO, highlights various retro, nostalgic features and plenty of  Hong Kong flair. Through Eaton Workshop, the first global brand merging hospitality with progressive social change created by founder and native, Katherine Lo, the property is LEED Gold certified and is taking prominent strides to push forward an environmentally conscious agenda such as banning plastic straws throughout the hotel, offering more vegan and vegetarian options at all their F&B establishments, and has partnered with local NGO, Water For Free, to offer complimentary filtered water to everyone in the community that brings in personal reusable water bottles.
