Sonalie Figueiras, Hong Kong’s Green Queen & Editor-in-Chief

Serial social entrepreneur Sonalie Figueiras is the founder & editor-in-chief of Green Queen, an award-winning impact media platform advocating for social & environmental change in Hong Kong with a mission to shift consumer behaviour through inspiring & empowering original content.She is also the founder & CEO of Ekowarehouse, the global sourcing platform for certified organic products, with a mission to make safe, quality food accessible & affordable for the whole planet. With over a decade of experience in publishing, digital marketing, organic trade and health & sustainability, she is an eco wellness industry veteran with a keen eye for market trends and a regular on the speaking circuit, sharing her expertise on stages across Asia and beyond. Sonalie also recently launched a podcast series about the Zero Waste Movement in Hong Kong to raise awareness about plastic pollution and the circular economy. When she is not working, Sonalie is usually dreaming up new plant based recipes in the kitchen for her family.

Sally Ho, Lead Reporter

Sally Ho is Green Queen’s resident writer and reporter. She studied at the London School of Economics and Political Science majoring in Politics and International Relations. A long-time vegan, she is passionate about environmental and social issues, and hopes to promote healthy and sustainable lifestyle choices in Hong Kong and Asia.

Ana Perez, Sales & Partnerships Manager

Ana Perez started her career as a Tour Guide in her native Spain, before moving to Email Marketing and Project Management, during which time she also taught herself to code. After a few years of various media positions in Finland, Austria and Hong Kong, honing her skills in Social Media Analytics, Visual Content Creation and Event Planning, she found her way to the sustainability job of her dreams: helping to grow Green Queen’s reach and impact through strategic brand collaborations. In her free time, she loves hiking, volunteering (find her on the operations team at TEDxTinHauWomen) and living that zero waste life. She is also an avid iPhone camera user, spending hours ‘gramming, filming & styling, especially on her many travels across Asia.

Aigul Safiullina, Events Manager

Aigul Safiullina is a multilingual community builder, trail runner, and conscious Breathwork instructor hailing from the Ural mountains in Russia. Having previously reported on climate change and environmental issues for the media outlets in South America, she decided to make a bigger change when she moved to Hong Kong. Combining her storytelling and leadership skills, Aigul has co-founded two startups focused on zero waste lifestyle and mindfulness, organized a number of events – from small meetups to big-scale conferences, including StartmeupHK Festival with Invest HK and multiple sustainability-themed Startup Weekends with Techstars. She is also a certified climate reality leader trained by Al Gore.

Jenny Star Lor, Writer & Reporter

Jenny Star Lor is Green Queen’s resident eco wellness writer. She is passionate about reducing her carbon footprint, loves all things fitness and enjoys tasting her way through Hong Kong’s veggie dining options. Originally from Los Angeles, she now calls Hong Kong home. Previously, she wrote and reported for global publications such as The Hollywood Reporter and US Weekly. She is also a passionate pole dancer and teaches classes across Hong Kong.

Vikas Kumar, Lead Developer

Vikas Kumar has been a full stack PHP developer for the past seven years, his main areas of expertise are developing PHP and MySQL based products for CakePHP and WordPress frameworks. Vikas also has extensive experience with HTML/CSS, jQuery, JavaScript, Ajax and Apache. Vikas has been a part of the team since 2015 and ensures that the Green Queen website operates smoothly. He has a BS (Computer Science) from NIIT University, India (2009) and blogs about programming at The Code Developer. In his spare time, Vikas runs a Student Welfare & Development program in his native village of Ransura, Uttar Pradesh.
