Hong Kong’s Best CrossFit Gyms

7 Mins Read

If you haven’t heard of CrossFit yet, then you might actually be living under a rock. Like green juices, mindfulness and sexy sneakers, CrossFit has entered our cultural lexicon and there’s now a global community of fanatically happy CrossFitters running around telling how CrossFit has changed their life and generally making the rest of us feel pretty lazy.

Quick recap: CrossFit is a high-intensity training philosophy that combines elements of cardio, weightlifting, gymnastics, and core training. It is well known to be the favored regimen of US Marines. Yup, you read that right. There’s also very specific lingo involved in being a CrossFitter: studios are known as boxes and your daily session is known as a WOD (aka ‘workout of the day’). A typical sesh involve runs, burpees, dead lifts, and pull-ups. Whether your goal is to improve your fitness or to lose a few pounds, CrossFit is a fantastic choice: yes the workout is great, but you also get to be part of a powerful community both here in Hong Kong and across the world. Here are Hong Kong’s best CrossFit gyms. Or should we say boxes…

CrossFit 852

CrossFit 852

At CrossFit 852, get ready to leave your ego at the door. They opened their Central location in 2013 and as one of the city’s CrossFit pioneers, they continue to purposely keep their classes small to ensure high-quality and interactive experiences between trainers and trainees. With a large selection of top-end equipment such as kettle bells, dumbbells, wall balls and more, you are guaranteed to achieve fantastic levels of soreness. We also love that they provide an OnRamp fundamentals course: their mandatory five-hour course for anyone who wants to train in their group classes. Perfect to ensure you know what’s what and to avoid injuries due to bad form. You can drop in and attend a session starting at HKD 250 per class.
