MANA! Launches Build Your Own Burger Pop-Up: ‘Made With Plants, Not In Them’

2 Mins Read

Vegan cuisine really shines at MANA! Fast Slow Food. Since opening its doors in March 2012, the re-invented ‘fast food’ establishment serving up vegan, vegetarian and raw food dishes made from consciously sourced local organic farms has been an avid crowd favourite. In keeping with their knack for celebrating wholesome foods the way nature intended, MANA! has launched Asia’s first customizable gourmet ‘Build Your Own Plant-Based Burger Pop Up’.

MANA! is forging a new wave of burgers made purely with fresh plant-based ingredients, not in them- patties made by hand, not on assembly lines, with no fillers or additives that are rich in protein, fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Diners at the MANA! Cafe location (and select Deliveroo customers) can choose among four quarter-pound vegan patties for HKD90:

  • The Babylon made with red bean, tempeh and beetroot;
  • The Aztec from black bean, quinoa and wild rice;
  • The Levant (our favorite!) made with falafel, all spice and roasted cauliflower;
  • The Ottoman from lentils, walnut and caramelized onions.

Topped with a thick slice of fresh tomato and lettuce with your choice of wholegrain, gluten-free multigrain or protein style leaf bun, your choice of condiments, and any of their 15 toppings like avocado & roasted veggies, (they also feature non vegan toppings such as pan fried Halloumi and free range organic fried egg) for an additional HKD15. Indulgent yet responsible, the mouth-watering burgers come freshly prepared and encased in their fully biodegradable and compostable paper wrap.

Green Queen Tip: order your burger with their garlicnaise sauce- def the most addictive #plantbased condiment in town!

Gaia, an environmentalist and staunch plant-based advocate, is committed raising awareness on the environment. According to statistics by the Hong Kong Environmental Protection Department, an estimated 3,4000 tonnes of food are sent to landfills every single day. To give a visual, that’s about 220 double-decker buses – filled with food – per day. “We want people to eat like it matters. These are burgers that deliver phenomenally on taste and nutrition, but don’t cost the earth and put the power into your hands,” Bobsy Gaia of MANA! explains. “We have been pioneering incredible vegan and vegetarian cuisine in Hong Kong and are 100% committed to conscious consumption and inspiring change.”

Building a homegrown brand by, for, and in Hong Kong, Gaia’s two outlets operate a zero food waste tolerance by donating three tonnes of food scraps monthly to local community organic farms. Taking great strides to leave a small eco footprint, MANA! continuously puts their values and principles first.
