Sweden’s Oatly Launches Vegan Oat Milk at 70+ Pacific Coffee HK Locations

In conjunction with World Environment Day, local coffee chain Pacific Coffee has partnered with globally revered oat milk brand, Oatly, to give Hong Kongers sustainable non-dairy alternatives that don’t harm the planet’s resources in the process and will be serving Oatly at more than 70 locations across the city to advocate big taste and little waste.

Rising up the ranks of alternative dairy products, oat milk has quickly ascended to beat out former faves like almond, cashew, or soy and has become the go-to amongst coffee connoisseurs worldwide. With its creamy consistency and rich taste, the Swedish brand was founded in 1993 by science professor Rickard Öste who wanted a substitute to dairy that was both good in taste and to the environment. The absence of dairy, nuts, gluten, soy or GMOs in oats is also an alluring plus to lactose-intolerant folks. Entering the American market in September 2016 by way of specialty coffeeshops where baristas favored its texture and ability to create a steady foam, the jovial and witty brand quickly gained widespread popularity.
