Giorgio Michalopoulos is a Greek-Italian freelance investigative journalist based in Brazil, specialised in environmental investigations and exposing the greenwashing of polluting companies, banks, and asset managers. His cross-border, awarded investigations have appeared in Voxeurop, The Guardian, Domani, Il Fatto Quotidiano, Mediapart, Expresso, Nacional, and other European newspapers. Giorgio also won the CEI Seemo Award as a young professional Journalist. He is also a PhD student at the Centre for Development and Regional Planning (Cedeplar) at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil.

Giorgio is a 2025 Green Queen Climate Feed Fellow.
