A food scientist by training and a food enthusiast at heart, Annamari Jukkola holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Aalto University and a Master’s in Dairy Science from the University of Helsinki. Raised on a dairy farm in a family that made cheese, she developed a deep respect for the craft early on. After working at Finland’s largest dairy producer, she began to see the contradiction between her professional work and her growing commitment to health, empathy, and sustainability. That realization led her to shift to a plant-based lifestyle and to co-found Mö in 2017 with her sister, Marjaana Vuorio. At Mö, Annamari applies her scientific expertise to developing proprietary technology that turns Finnish oats into flavorful, high-quality cheeses. Known within the team as the resident “science geek,” she combines technical precision with a genuine passion for making food systems more sustainable and humane.
