Simon Eassom is Executive Director of Food Frontier, Australia's independent think-tank on alternative proteins. He has a PhD in applied ethics and is a former university professor of philosophy as well as having a background in health, nutrition and diet. He is a qualified physical educator and was Head of a large university School of Physical Education and Sports Science in the UK before moving to Australia to work for IBM, where he advanced the use of technology, including artificial intelligence, to build IBM's point-of-view on the future of education. As well as directing Food Frontier's thought leadership on food systems transformation, he is also the Chief Futurist for the Australian Council of Professions (ACoP). He is a passionate advocate for animal welfare and lives on a rural property with horses, dogs, cats, chickens, tame magpies, resident ducks and numerous rodents of all kinds.
