Phuket, the largest island in Thailand, is home to not only some of the greatest views and beaches the country has to offer, it also boasts an impressive array of plant-based eateries. From creamy green coconut curry and pad thai to colourful summer rolls to beat the heat, Phuket is never short of delicious plant-forward options. To make it easy for you, we’ve shortlisted some of the best vegan and vegetarian eats that you can eat your way through on your travels to Phuket. 

The Vegan Table

Opened in 2018, The Vegan Table is a 100% vegan western style restaurant offering delicious and healthy dishes such as smoked tofu summer rolls, vegan pizza, avocado sourdough toast and fruit-filled granola bowls. They also have on offer some Asian vegan dishes such as curries and stir fries, plus a range of freshly pressed juices and healthy elixirs to cool you down from the sun.

Mae Orathai Vegetarian

At Mae Orathai Vegetarian, you’ll get your typical vegan and vegetarian Thai fare in buffet-style. Open from breakfast through till afternoon, the restaurant displays an extensive selection of mixed curries, mock meat dishes and veggie stir-fries for an affordable 100THB. It also has a small grocery section where you can purchase snacks that are perfect to keep you fuelled as you explore.

Yo Vegan

Yo Vegan is a plant-based restaurant serving up delicious Thai food. Its menu ranges from guay teow noodle soup to papaya salad to the most amazing Thai desserts. The restaurant was previously vegetarian and included some Italian dishes but they have recently gone 100% vegan Thai.

Ella Bistro

Ella Bistro is located just off the main beach road in Phuket serving western and international food. Though the restaurant is not completely vegan or vegetarian, it does offer a good range of plant-based options. Some of the herbivore-friendly dishes on their menu include a vegan burger made with a chickpea and bean-based patty and a mouthwatering blueberry pancake with maple syrup.

Sai Than Boon

Near Kata Beach, Sai Than Boon is a local-style Thai vegetarian restaurant with both an a la carte menu and buffet. Here, you’ll be able to dine on local classics – many of which are 100% vegan-friendly – such as rice and curry with a vegan fried “egg”. So if you’re looking to have a Thai feast, this is just the place.

Santosa Vegan Restaurant

Santosa Vegan Restaurant is a part of the Santosa Wellness Center, and is a 100% plant-based eatery serving up nutrient dense food with many options for those on a raw vegan diet as well. All its dishes are made using whole plant foods, and every Saturday night the restaurant hosts a buffet with a pick-up service available within the Kata and Karon area of Phuket.

Pure Vegan Heaven

Founded in 2016, Pure Vegan Heaven is the original location of its multiple outlets across Thailand. It serves a large range of 100% vegan meals, such as rice paper rolls, build-your-own salads, banana pancakes, quesadillas, mushroom larb and burgers. Plus, most visitors recommend trying their incredible vegan dessert selection, so make sure to check it out.
