How did yoga enter your life?
I was suffering from injuries that I had sustained from years of dancing and yoga gave me relief from chronic pain as well as a stiffening body. After years exploring my own personal practice I realized I wanted to teach yoga. I took my first 200HR teacher training and since then have continued my education further into yoga, as well as delving into meditation and mindfulness to continue expanding and learning.
Where and what type of yoga do you teach?
I am currently teaching private sessions and private group sessions in Hong Kong through my wellness brand, The Health Seed Concept.
What yoga mat do you use every day?
My favorite mat is Lululemon’s 3mm reversible mat because it has great grip, is easy to carry around and is super comfortable.
What yoga accessory do you swear by?
To be honest I live without yoga accessories. I’m a big fan of getting outside and using whatever is around me if needed– a tree or soft sand can be wonderful for your practice.
What is your favorite yogawear brand?
My go-to is Lululemon– for me they are the best yoga pants I’ve ever worn, they are so comfortable and as someone who wears yoga pants every single day I know they wear well and last a long time.
What is your daily mantra?
I use the Vedic mantra for living in alignment, which is full of wonderful teachings. It ends with ‘Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti’ and in the context of this mantra it means ‘may we do everything in peace, may we make peace with our past, unite with the present and savor each moment’.
What yoga studio do you enjoy practicing at?
I love any studio where the classes are smaller and the space has good energy.
Where do you go to eat?
Mana Café is my favorite spot.
What’s your favorite thing about Green Queen?
Since the day I arrived in Hong Kong it has been my go to guide for everything from where to eat out to health and wellness events to sustainable living in Hong Kong!
