Vegan Travel: Where To Eat Plant-Based At Hong Kong International Airport

3 Mins Read

As a city that is constantly on the go, traveling can be tough on your diet. Frequent flyers know all too well that what you eat at the airport could affect how you feel during transit and we know that the last thing you want to feel is sluggish, sickly or hangry when you’re 30,000 feet up in the air. Fret not, finding herbivore-friendly grub while jet setting doesn’t have to be a struggle! Our local airport has amped up their availability of plant-based eats here are the best vegan food options at Hong Kong International Airport.

Beef and Liberty

A newer addition to HKIA, order the Impossible Burger at Beef and Liberty if you haven’t tried it yet! To make it vegan-friendly, do request to have the kitchen swap out the bun to your server upon ordering and request some vegan cheese. While their popular Beetroot Burger is unavailable in this location at the moment, we are quite partial to their Falafel Burger and think it’s equally delicious (just skip the cheese).

PizzaExpress

A great option for veggie lovers, PizzaExpress offers a variety of meatless eats on their Italian menu. While there might be a wait during peak hours, we do appreciate the kitchen’s willingness to speed up our orders if flyers are pressed for time. One thing to note tho: no gluten-free or vegan cheese is offered at this location so your pizzas will be sans fromage.

Pret A Manger

The popular sandwich chain in the city, Pret A Manger is one of our favorite go-tos for a quick pickup of fresh, handmade foods and organic teas or coffees. With two locations inside HKIA, options abound with their high protein and veggie sandwiches and wraps, coconut milk drinks, delectable vegan pots and more!

Joe and The Juice

The clean coffee and juice bar from Copenhagen, Joe and The Juice offers a ton of hip and healthy items like vegan shakes, soy milk coffee drinks, protein-packed sandwiches and veggie shots made with organic ingredients. What we love most about this massive international chain are their delicious sandwiches with veggie options to choose from using dark, thin, crispy, Scandi bread imported all the way from Denmark – try the chickpea and avo smash with jalapeno, it’s a winner!.
