Amid the pandemic-driven global awareness over health, sustainability and wellness, Asia’s leading regional tradeshow, Natural and Organic Asia (NOA), is returning to Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre for the eighth consecutive year. Taking place from September 7 to 9, the fair will feature the flagship NOA Academy, where industry experts will share their insights, trend forecasts and more.
Natural and Organic Asia (NOA) is returning to Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) in Wanchai from September 7 to 9 this year. The fair, which has been held annually since 2014, is the Asian region’s most established sourcing and trading platform in the industry.
As with previous years, the tradeshow is set to spotlight four categories in the industry, featuring the latest products, brands and companies in natural and organic food & beverage, natural beauty, natural living to health & wellness. Free pre-registration for the three-day event, organised by Informa Markets, is now open.
Experts will be diving deeper into these trends at the popular NOA Academy, which includes workshops, seminars and forums. Among some of the speakers are Zoe Li, founder of Zolar Fitness and Suphia Ng of homegrown vegan-friendly snack brand Suphia’s Functional Foods, who will be joined with other experts to discuss the ketogenic diet.
Hong Kong Health Food Association’s Dr. Jennifer Wan and Joanne Cheung, on the other hand, will be leading a discussion on dietary supplements and food trends set to shape the industry in 2021 and beyond, while nutrition lecturer Kennie Siu of Tung Wah College will share the latest on how fermented fruit and vegetables benefit the gut microbiome.
Green Queen Media founder Sonalie Figueiras, who is also behind certified-organic sourcing platform Ekowarehouse, will also be sharing her expertise at the event and will introduce her new global green packaging sourcing platform.
Bhutanese products make their first debut
For the very first time, natural Bhutanese products will be showcased at NOA. Funded by the European Union, the Bhutan Trade Support Project seeks to boost the country’s export revenues through horticulture products and authentic textile handicrafts, creating extra income for farmers and local communities in Bhutan.
Some of these products that are set to debut at NOA as part of the project include natural lemon verbena teas, moringa green teas, ginger powder and quinoa. Bhutanese plant-based jerky will even be introduced for the first time, made by local organic brand Orgreenic.
In line with global trends, demand for natural and organic products has surged amid the pandemic-driven uptick in awareness of sustainability, health, well-being and nutrition—and more entrepreneurs and labels are now coming up with novel products to cater to shifting consumer habits.
The natural and organic food market, in particular, has seen sales skyrocket as more shoppers begin to pick up healthier and immunity-boosting fresh produce and packaged food products and make their cooking-at-home habits a long-lasting trend.
