Get ready to celebrate a day of women who make Hong Kong a greener place as part of the lead up to International Women’s Day with local social enterprise Encompass HK hosting Vol. 1 of their Green Women Festival this Sunday, March 3, 2019 in Wong Chuk Hang.

In conjunction with Campfire, an interactive global network of customised shared spaces, as part of their Women’s Empowerment Series, the day-long festival will host a lineup of various versatile talk panels, discussion groups and workshops from industry leaders, social entrepreneurs, and activists. The challenges, triumphs, endeavours and successes of women and their fight for gender equality, green innovations and sustainability will be celebrated and explored.

Sure to be an empowering day, the bilingual event will showcase talks ranging on all things green – from the circular economy to sustainable fashion, from eco-tourism to zero waste living. Female-themed “funshops” with active participation will feature embodiment dance and movement, green dating tips, food and nutrition, art and the female body.

A marketplace of over 15 women-led conscious and ethical brands including eco companies like Zero Yet 100 and Fair Taste, a meditation corner and a secondhand book fair will also feature on site. As the proud eco wellness media partner for the Green Women Festival, Green Queen strongly identifies with social campaigns that advocate human rights and represent women of all ages and nationalities to ‘think equal, build smart, and innovate for change‘, the theme this year for International Women’s Day.

On a mission to promote diversity and inclusion in the workplace, Encompass HK offers training and consulting solutions for organisations and companies to advance gender equality and sustainability. Specialising in the adoption of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations, the Hong Kong-based social enterprise hosts experiential learning and active workshops all year round.

Fostering creativity and meaningful connections, Campfire Collaborative Spaces is hosting a monthlong series of its own that includes exclusive workshops and screenings for women by women to drive the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women so it made sense to partner with Encompass HK in an official capacity.

Open to friends, families and male allies, tickets are available for purchase now. General admission will include one free drink, organic canapés served throughout the day, discounts to future events, day-of experiences and an opportunity to win prizes.

The Green Women Festival will be held at Campfire Wong Chuk Hang at 5/F, Remex Centre, 42 Wong Chuk Hang Road, Wong Chuk Hang on 3 March 2019, from 11AM to 6PM. Get your tickets HERE.
