Green Queen x sitsat Presents Meditation 101

Benefits & Techniques

An Evening For Beginners

“We do all kinds of things to remain beautiful yet we spend surprisingly little time taking care of what matters most: the way our mind functions.” -Matthieu Ricard

Hong Kong is a fast-paced city. 60% of Hong Kongers are highly stressed, 50% feel they have poor mental health and 25% show signs of depression and anxiety- the latter is 250% higher than the global average. Science and data proves that meditation works and there are no side effects. In fact, neuroscientists have found that just 8 weeks of mindful meditation practice changes parts of the brain that manage stress, enhance focus and regulate emotions. More info here.

If you have been curious about meditation, and are interested in seeing how you can make meditation a regular part of your life, this workshop is for you. We will cover the fundamentals of meditation including what it is, misconceptions about meditation, and how to approach meditation as a beginner. We will demystify meditation and show you how to use it as a tool for self-development. You will leave the workshop knowing how to enjoy a continued meditation practice at home.

About Kit Lee of sitsat

Kit Lee is a certified McLean Meditation Institute Meditation & Mindfulness teacher and 200-hour RYT yoga instructor.

Lee found meditation when she needed to regain her wellbeing from working over a decade in the demanding corporate world. Having experienced the benefits, she believes everybody can develop the skill to tune in to his or her true self, recover their emotional balance, and flow with modern day challenges.

Lee set up sitsat earlier this year with the mission is to demystify meditation, make it more accessible, and to approach mindfulness in a scientific and non-secular way. sitsat is a modern meditation pop-up space in Hong Kong offering secular, non-religious meditation circles, workshops and general events, looking to create a community with meditation as a self-development tool to manage stress, develop focus, and enhance clarity.
