Women-led organization Red Carpet Green Dress (RCGD), which was founded by Suzy Amis Cameron and works to drive positive change in the fashion and apparel industry, recently launched its brand new digital RCGD app to build a community dedicated to promoting sustainability.

Red Carpet Green Dress (RCGD) has debuted a new app that aims to provide information and raise awareness about sustainable fashion, giving its consumers exclusive access to content to help make environmentally-minded apparel choices more accessible.

Founded by actress, environmental advocate and author of ‘Save the Planet’ Suzy Amis Cameron, RCGD was born when during the global premieres of her husband James Camerons’ ‘Avatar’, Cameron couldn’t find enough ethical fashion brands to wear on the red carpet so decided to take matters into her own hands.

RCGD celebrated its 10-year anniversary in 2019, and the organization remains committed to its mission to drive more sustainable practices in fashion. Recently the team unveiled the Oscars red carpet design initiatives with the Annual Academy Awards dressing several Hollywood celebrities in sustainable wear, for instance it was behind the gown that French actress Léa Seydoux wore which was developed from renewable wood-based Tencel Luxe filament yarn.

With this new app offering, which is available to download at the iOS and Play stores, all of the organization’s initiatives are now in one place in an effort to spark conversations around eco-design, keep consumers updated on the latest news in this sector, show how sustainability can have a personal impact as well as educate people on these topics through personal tips and industry solutions.

In addition, the content on the app will display interviews with sustainability leaders, editorials, features, blogs, a calendar to stay updated on environmental-related days, games to test knowledge and plus the opportunity to connect with like-minded people.

The app will further inform its community about RCGD’s latest work with the Oscars, the Global Design Contest, upcoming workshops, brand partnerships and projects. It will share behind-the-scenes footage and recordings with wardrobe stylists and display upcoming Clubhouse rooms featuring discussions with special guests.
