Hong Kong Wellness Guide: A Complete List Of FREE Yoga Classes Across The City

4 Mins Read

In a bustling metropolis like Hong Kong, it can be hard to find peace of mind. Luckily, our fair city is home to a slew of yoga studios with amazing yoga teachers (check out our HK Yoga Teacher series to learn more about these inspiring instructors) to help push your yoga practice to the next level. But pricey memberships and the latest specialty mats can dishearten said peace of mind to those that don’t have the financial means to pay for classes. A 5,000 year old practice, yoga (a Sanskrit word for “union”) has immense benefits of uniting body, mind, and breath that can be enjoyed by everyone – not just those who can afford expensive yoga pants and designer accessories. That’s why we pulled together a list of five completely free yoga classes in Hong Kong to get people to move, breathe, and connect with their community. Donations are appreciated but not required. Namaste.

Andiappan Yoga Community

A non-profit, volunteer-run organization comprised of International Yoga Academy certified instructors who have completed their RYT 200, Andiappan Yoga Community (AYC) firmly believes in the benefits of yoga and are committed to sharing their movement and methodology with anyone and everyone. All AYC instructors teach on a volunteer basis with no cost to participants, and are especially devoted to sharing yoga with those who may not have the financial means to enroll in classes or who have special needs or circumstances. Their community projects currently offers yoga for breast cancer survivors, de-stress and meditation courses, as well as yoga geared toward overseas workers, taking place all over the city.

Not all community projects are open to the public and to enroll, participants must fill out a waiver and release form here.
