The green world can be daunting for the fashionistas among us. Fashion is not just about how things are made. Aesthetics and design are paramount and frankly, it’s long been a hemp fabric and shapeless tunic affair… However, the growing number of reports describing working conditions in garment factories around the world has left many of us with twinges of eco-guilt that are harder and harder to ignore. These days, the world of fast fashion isn’t so feel-good. So what is an sustainably-minded fashionista to do?

Fear not, as we have rounded up the best online fashion boutiques from around the globe- they all ship to Hong Kong, they all offer seriously on trend pieces that any chic lady would approve of and they all promise ethical workforces, sustainable fabrics and eco-conscious manufacturing. All except one have a selection of well curated designers and brands to choose from- we included Reformation because it’s our favourite green fashion brand ever. From dresses to shoes to bags to jewellery, these e-shops will keep you looking fabulous on the outside while allowing you to feel fabulous on the inside as well.

EKOLUV (Gold Coast)

Australia-based site, EKOLUV offers a large range of green fashion options. Their site, which is carbon neutral, curates a variety of designers producing both women’s clothing lines as well as accessories including shoes, bags and jewellery. EKOLUV has all their sustainable bases covered with options that are vintage, fair trade, vegan, recycled, upcycled, organic cotton or handmade- keeping your wardrobe looking amazing and leaving everyone else “green” with envy.

A Los Angeles based brand, Reformation is a fashion line with a heart of green. Reformation is 100% committed to the planet’s wellbeing and it shows in everything they do, from their sustainable fabric choices, including vintage and dead stock, to their sustainable building that uses renewable energy, to their packaging that uses 100% recycled materials. Modavanti is a Brooklyn based e-tailer with a large selection of designers- they currently showcase over 100. Green Queen Crush: Structured chic is the look du jour chez Modavanti, with smart, well cut white organic cotton shirts and loads of work-friendly dresses but what caught our eye was the Deep Emerald Vegan Leather Bustier– think this is the birth of the term ecosexy!

Positively ancient in green fashion e-tailing standards (they have been around since 2006), the mother-and-daughters team from Northern California that runs the site knows a thing or two about sourcing sustainably. Beklina has a range of sustainable offerings by international designers, including organic and fair trade pieces. Their site proffers women’s clothing including sleep and swimwear, accessories, bags and shoes as well as jewllery, bath items and homewares. They also have a selection of specialty fabrics, including handmade options, available for those looking to make their own break into the sustainable fashion business. This sustainable fashion boutique based in The Netherlands features an array of green designers. Green This Season offers women’s clothing, men’s clothing, accessories, and jewellery. Every label has a sustainable element including items made from upcycled and recycled materials, certified organic and fair trade options, designers that work with disadvantaged ethnic groups and focus on improving labor conditions… They also make it easy to choose by providing icons that highlight the sustainable aspect of each designer on every product page.

A Boy Named Sue (Hong Kong)

Proud to include this hometown company! A Boy Named Sue is Hong Kong’s own eco-friendly fashion e-tailer offering women’s clothing and accessories from around the globe, as well as around the corner! The site focuses on brands that are sustainable, ethical and when possible local. The multiple designers on show represent a variety of eco choices, including organic fabrics, upcycled materials, pieces made using a zero waste manufacturing process and even items that are handwoven on traditional looms.

Green Queen Crush: It’s all gorgeous prints and monochrome blocks at A Boy Named Sue with well-cut shell tops and A-line dresses, all with a certain laid-back cool. We heart their Jumper Overalls in Union!
