Health, Wellness & Fitness Festival IRIS Returns To Central Harbourfront This Month

On the weekend of the 21st – 22nd September, Hong Kong’s largest outdoor fitness and wellness festival IRIS will return to Central Harbourfront to showcase more than 80 activities and experiences. In addition to ticketed talks, meditation and movement activities, there will also be a free-entry marketplace comprised of 70 health and lifestyle brands from all around Asia.

This year’s festival, named “IRIS: Your Escape with ManulifeMOVE”, seeks to appeal to the city’s booming health-conscious and fitness-frenzied wellness community. The outdoor festival will have their popular lineup of yoga taught by some of Hong Kong’s most loved instructors and wellness practitioners to lead group classes, as well as feature a range of musical performances and fitness activations. Highlights from the schedule worth calling out include Gong Baths, Aerial Arts and Motivational Speakers.

The waterfront area will be divided into six different zones, think ZEN GARDEN and THE PLAYGROUND, with each to focus on wellbeing related workshops and activities throughout the weekend such as meditation sessions, a children’s playground, a silent disco and health talks.

In line with regional Asian and global market trends, IRIS’s marketplace will be offering more eco-friendly and plant-based products to meet consumer demand for greener and healthier brands. Of the 70+ vendors participating this year, some standouts are Hong Kong homegrown beverage giant Vitasoy’s Plant Milk Booth to showcase their line of vegan-friendly milks (they will be serving up vegan milk lattes and smoothies) and UK eco beauty and cosmetics brand LUSH, who have recently launched their “carbon positive” packaging, who will be hosting different skincare workshops. In addition, new on-demand booking app Switch & Co will be hosting a breadth of fitness, wellbeing and leisure activities which visitors can book and pay-as-you-go through their app.

The weekend-long event is hosted by the IRIS Movement, a community that seeks to foster healthier and more active lifestyles in the city through positive experiences.
