The Cakery Introduces New Vegan Menu of Organic Coffee, Rainbow Superfood Lattes & Smoothie Bowls

Up the third floor of LANDMARK Atrium on a bustling afternoon, the queue for The Cakery extends past the escalators of its new wellness corner. Shoppers are lingering by the glass case, eyeing elegantly decorated mini and full-sized cupcakes; sweet treats so feather-light and deeply flavored that no one would guess they’re wheat-free. Meanwhile, office workers are picking up an array gluten-free sandwiches and colorful drinks to go. Famed for their delicious dietary-restrictive cupcakes, baked goods and savory items featuring only natural, nutrient-rich ingredients, it’s The Cakery’s latest vegan offerings that have us on a healthier sugar high. Introducing a new range of vegan superfood lattes, smoothie bowls and organic coffee, we take you through the new wholesome additions of this undeniably charming hotspot.

Four new energizing superfood lattes have been added to the menu as colorful new options to try when you’re tired of caffeine or in need of a nontraditional energy boost. Otherwise known as rainbow lattes, The Cakery offers insta-worthy bright, beautifully hued drinks: golden yellow turmeric latte, pink beetroot latte, green matcha latte and a purple black gojiberry taro latte. It took months to finetune this menu of plant-based, healing lattes packed with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals and the end result is as delicious as it is healthy. Available with prime options of almond, soy or coconut milk, we opted for the visually stunning dreamy pink beetroot latte, with its high anti-inflammatory and antioxidant qualities (thanks to the vegetable) and slightly earthy taste, it’s a heavenly caffeine-free alternative to the traditional flat white.

Catered to today’s health-conscious customers, the popular pop-up has been delivering batches of gluten-, wheat-, dairy-free, organic, paleo and low in refined sugar bites all over Hong Kong island since 2016. Staying on top of trends, The Cakery brings us the healthy food world’s new breakfast star, smoothie bowls! Blending four gorgeous bowls piled with superfoods, fresh fruit, nuts, and all kinds of seeds, these gourmet flavors are currently available at only at the LANDMARK location. It was hard to decide which smoothie to choose from, are we feeling vibrant for Red Dragon with raspberries, buckwheat, and red dragon fruit? Or is Starry Night calling us, a chic black smoothie blend of charcoal powder, strawberries and mango? Maybe we want to stay traditional and go with Go Green, a mix of kale, kiwi and bananas? In the end, we try Blue Ocean, a refreshing base of blueberries and blue spirulina, bananas, coconut milk that comes topped with coconut flakes, honey, chia seeds, almonds and lavender.

Cooling and thirst-quenching, it’s perfect for breakfast, a pre- or post- workout meal, or a naturally sweet snack that is definitely more satisfying than a regular smoothie! Packed with nutrients to keep you energized all day long, these smoothie bowls are sure to be a hit when the Hong Kong heat takes over! You really might never need a straw again (and if you do, BRING YOUR OWN!)
